Everywhere we looked it was all destruction and devastation. There were no buildings standing, only piles of rubble - I turned in a slow circle and everywhere I looked nothing was more than waiste high. The place was dead; even sound could not travel more than a few feet before fading. something had come and stomped it all flat. The dark was pervasice; any light was only a dim, bruised purple. And it was cold. Stark and bitter cold as though all the heat had been sucked out of world. There was no wind so every footfall raised a cloud of dust that hung suspended - choking off what little of the purple light there was. The quiet was disturbing, unnatural but of anticipatory silence as though someplace far off something was watching and waiting and biding its time to attack. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
